FAQ's about our Security!

1. Why do I get a warning that the name on the security certificate does not match the name of the site?

If you click the 'View Certificate' button, you will find the certificate is registered to the www.CompBiz.net secure servers, which is our corporate web site where this community Web site is also hosted. Because we host several online communities, you will receive this warning. This is normal and you should click 'Yes' to proceed. You information will remain secure and protected despite this warning.

2. Why do I get a warning that I am about to view pages over a secure connection and that any information I exchange with this site cannot be viewed by anyone else on the Web?

This is normal and is confirmation that you will be entering a secured area of our Web site (i.e. Member Console). You can check the box "In the future, do not show this warning" and you will not be prompted again when entering a secured area. To verify that you are in a secure area, look for the lock icon in the bottom status bar of your browser window.

3. Why do I get a warning that I am about to leave a secure Internet connection and that it will be possible for others to view information I send?

This is normal and is confirmation that you will be leaving a secured area of our Web site (i.e. Member Console). You can check the box "In the future, do not show this warning" and you will not be prompted again when leaving a secured area. To verify that you are in a secure area, look for the lock icon in the bottom status bar of your browser window.

4. Why do I get a warning that the page contains both secure and non-secure items?

This is normal and caused by graphic images that are intended to display on the page and are not stored on the server in a secured area. You should click yes to also display non-secure items. If you click no, then the graphic images will display as broken links. Regardless, the page and all data exchanged on the page is completely secure.
